Internet
Trick #7
Connect any computer to the internet using your phone..
On iPhone - Go to Settings --> Personal Hotspot --> Turn on Personal Hotspot
Save the Wi-Fi Password listed above as you will need it later..
On Any Computer- Go to Wi-Fi (Internet Connection) --> Click on the connection listed as your name's iPhone
After clicking your iPhone's connection on your computer, enter the password that you saved above from your iPhone. Now you can surf the web or do anything that requires internet on your computer. This simply lets your computer use your iPhone's 3G or 4G network to access the internet. HOWEVER, this only works if the plan you have with your Phone allows you to enable personal hotspots. Not all plans offer this setting, so make sure yours does!

Open an application right after login..
Right click an icon in the dock --> options --> open at login
This will allow you to automatically have your favorite applications open as soon as you login to your mac computer. For example, if you do this with the app store application, once you login to your mac, the app store will open up automatically without hesitation. You can do this trick with any application in your dock!
The Dock
Trick #2
Editing the dock size, magnification, position, and more..
On the upper left hand corner, click the apple logo --> Dock --> Dock Preferences...
From there on, a screen will pop up that should look like this..
From here you can change the following:
Size: changes the size of the icons on the dock
Magnification: causes the icons to enlarge when the cursor is hovered over an icon
Position on screen: changes the position the dock is at on your screen- left, bottom, or right
Minimize windows using: Genie effect- minimizes windows in a slithering manner
Scale effect- minimizes windows in a square like manner
1st check box: causes a window to minimize when it is double clicked on the title bar- in this case, the title bar is the bar with the word "Dock" on it
2nd check box: Minimizes a window into the appropriate application icon. Ex: a safari window will be minimized into the safari application icon, and not off to the side as a separate window
3rd check box: Causes an application in the dock to bounce when clicked on
4th check box: Causes the dock to disappear when the cursor isn't hovered over it, and will reappear when hovered over again
5th check box: Shows little rectangular lights to appear underneath applications in the dock when they are running in the background or open
